Rawk/Noise Pop (Cincinnati)
MidPoint winding down and your face has yet to melt off? 20th Century Tokyo will set your straight. Raw, insistent and unfiltered Rock & Roll, the pissed-off (’cause how can’t they be?) and noisy (’cause how can’t they be?) Tokyo Princess makes it rain shards of serrated guitar slashes, rabbit-punch rhythms and fever-pitch vocals. Try to walk out of 20CTP show and the music will stop you before you can turn your back to the stage, then give you a hard, lean-in shoulder bump and subtle wink as you suddenly realize being right there, right now is exactly where you need to be.
You’ll Dig It If You Dig: The Exile on Main Street boom-box demos recorded between fistfights; Lou and Iggy relapse and re-find their danger monkeys. (Mike Breen, CityBeat)
