Geoff Davin builds his Country house from a broad range of musical materials, from Blues to Gospel to Soul to Southern Rock, but the truly amazing thing about Davin is the seamless manner in which he incorporates his influences into his Country presentation. He clearly understands the Garth Brooks/Big & Rich school of entertaining, but he also gets the connection between old Country and new Country, and the places where all of the other genres that he loves to translate intersect with his Country foundation. Maybe that’s the secret — Geoff Davin starts with the music he loves, then loves the music he makes.
