Indie Pop (Chicago)
It seems unbelievable that Gold Motel could produce the kind of sweet Pop sounds that emanate from their 2010 full length debut, Summer House, after just a year together, but that’s how it played out. In 2009, singer/songwriter Greta Morgan took a year’s worth of California experience and inspiration back to her Chicago hometown, where she collaborated with Dan Duzsynski on a solo EP that quickly evolved into Gold Motel. The band and EP debuted in December of that year, with the infectious and accomplished Summer House coming less than a year later. Gold Motel just released a new single, “Leave You in Love” (featuring the irresistible line, “We learned how to kiss from magazines...”); can a sophomore full length be far behind? The Big Time beckons.
