Indie Folk (Chicago)

Singer/songwriter Mike Musikanto constructed his latest, greatest recording, Sky of Dresses, in a Milwuakee studio run by a friend, editing and rewriting the songs while listening to playbacks on the long drive to and from the sessions. Given the moving work on Dresses, it’s a process he may want to repeat on future releases. Musikanto’s sound is sparse (acoustic guitar, wounded vocals and harmonica make up the base) but rich and soulful, like the majesty of a simple sunset witnessed at the end of a perfect day.
