Indie Folk Pop (Chicago)
Paper Thick Walls’ recent debut album, A Thousand Novels, is aptly titled, populated with fascinating and compelling little short stories set to an equally effecting soundtrack, an orchestral swell that ebbs and flows. The centerpiece of Paper Thick Walls’ sound is the interplay between Kate Schell and Eric Richards, the former exhibiting the vocal vulnerability of Zooey Deschanel and the latter working a Pop vibe reminiscent of the breathier side of Matthew Sweet and Marc Cohn. Paper Thick Walls will start with your ears but won’t stop until they have your heart.

“I absolutely love the male/female harmonizing over the soft instruments.... It’s beautiful and enchanting and reminds me of something found on the Once soundtrack.” (IndieShuffle.com)
