Roots Pop (Chicago)
Windy City foursome-turned-fivesome Santah recorded its debut album, White Noise Bed, at the studio of late Wilco guitarist/songwriter Jay Bennett, someone whose “psychedelic Americana” the band says they identify with greatly. Also taking inspiration from classic Power Pop artists, the resulting sound is a hovering but in no way soft slant on Roots Rock, possessing some of the sonic swagger and soar of early albums by The Verve, but with sharp melodies that cut through the fog.
