Soapland

Soapland

Electro Indie Pop (Cincinnati)

Two years ago, Soapland came together from disparate pieces of Viva Le Foxx, Wolverton Brothers, (in)camera and Roundhead and immediately made their mark on the local scene with an intoxicating blend of New Wave, Rock and an organic approach to Electronica. Soapland’s recently released EP, The Inflatable Real, is a four-track teaser of the quartet’s limitless potential and a tantalizing hint at the number of directions they have at their disposal. Named for a type of Japanese brothel, Soapland not only understands the dirty/clean dichotomy, they revel in it.

You’ll Dig It If You Dig: Dark Wave laptop Synth Pop with Indie Rock energy and ambition and the coolest ’80s record collection ever. (Brian Baker, CityBeat)
