It's finally time for MidPoint, and you haven't bought your tickets yet. You have questions? We've got answers.
Can I still get a 3-day wristband?
Of course! Advance sales of 3-day wristbands might be finished, but you can still buy them Thursday night at the MidPoint Ticket/Info Booth on the MidPoint Midway (12th Street in Over-the-Rhine). They're $49 and provide admission to all MPMF.11 shows, subject to capacity rules, without paying individual cover charges. 3-day wristbands won't be sold after Thursday, and they're not available at any venue — only the MidPoint Ticket/Info Booth. Get more info about the MidPoint Midway here.
I already bought a 3-day wristband online, at Fountain Square or at a retail store. How do I turn my paper ticket into a wristband?
Redeem your paper ticket at any MPMF.11 venue on any evening. You give the door person your ticket, they give you a wristband.
I can only come to MidPoint one evening. Is there a 1-day wristband?
Sure! 1-day wristbands are $30 and provide admission to one night’s MPMF.11 shows, subject to capacity rules, without paying individual cover charges. They're sold each night during the festival only at the MidPoint Ticket/Info Booth on the MidPoint Midway — they aren't available at any venue.
I bought a VIP Pass online. How do I get my VIP badge and goodie bag?
You have several choices for where and when to redeem your paper ticket.
• Come by the MidPoint HQ at Garfield Suites Hotel (Vine Street & Garfield Place downtown across from the main library) Thursday from 1-7 p.m. Ask for the VIP table and present your paper ticket to receive your VIP badge and goodie bag.
• Attend the first VIP pre-party 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Herzog Studios, the historic music space downtown at 811 Race Street (Bootsy & Patti Collins are hosting). It's a great opportunity to start off your MidPoint experience right. You can pick up your VIP badge and goodie bag there too.
• Finally, on Thursday from 7 p.m. & on you can drop by the VIP Sanctuary Room, 1128 Main Street in Over-the-Rhine (behind the vitaminwater room at the Hanke Building). This is your oasis throughout MidPoint if you're looking to get away from the crowd for a bit and grab something to eat and drink. You'll be able to pick up your VIP badge and goodie bag there as well. (Info/map for the vitaminwater room is here.)
If you can't make it down to MidPoint on Thursday, this same schedule applies Friday and Saturday — except the VIP pre-parties are at the VIP Sanctuary Room, not Herzog Studios.
I'm only planning to attend the Cut Copy show Saturday night. What's my ticket situation?
Individual shows have specific cover charges that range from $10 to $25 and provide admission to one venue’s lineup for an entire evening. So if you want to see Cut Copy (pictured), Washed Out and Midnight Magic Saturday at the Dewey's Pizza Stage at Grammer's, you pay at the door. If you're thinking of hitting some other MPMF.11 shows after Cut Copy lets out, you'll have to pay additional cover charges at every venue — you'd be much better off buying a 1-day wristband for Saturday. But plan ahead: the 1-day wristband is sold only at the MidPoint Ticket/Info Booth on the MidPoint Midway — not at any venue.
I'm broke. Are there any free shows at MidPoint?
Yes, two. The CAC Singer/Songwriter Stage on the MidPoint Midway has MPMF.11 musicians performing in-the-round style acoustic sets all three nights, hosted by Cincinnati singer/songwriter Tracy Walker. Admission to the MidPoint Midway is free and open to all ages. (More info about the stage lineup is here.)
Cincinnati-based music blog Each Note Secure is hosting MidPoint’s first day party, a fixture at festivals like South By Southwest. Four bands already playing MPMF.11 showcases will offer free sets Saturday from 12:15 p.m. until around 4:00 (band lineup here). The day party will be held at the vitaminwater room in the Hanke Building, 1128 Main St., Over-the-Rhine.
