MPMF11 Day 3: Day Party, Daytime Midway, Bike Rally and Lots & Lots of Music

The final day of MPMF.11 is upon us, but there's still plenty to do and see. And the weather is supposed to get better: dry, cloudy and 70.

Everyone's already talking about today's activities on the MPMF.11 tweet/text visualization thingy: join the conversation at

MidPoint's first official day party kicks off at 12:15 p.m. at the vitaminwater room at the Hanke Building (venue map/details here). Each Note Secure is hosting performances from four MPMF.11 acts: The Capstan Shafts, Total Babes, Nerves Junior and (newly announced) Bro. Stephen. It's all free. Details here.

The hugely popular MidPoint Midway opens today at 1 p.m. for some daytime action of its own. ArtWorks' Box Truck Carnival will be up & running, as will the food booths and the beer truck. Music on the CAC Singer/Songwriter Stage starts at 3 p.m. Midway details here.

The Midway hosts a big bike rally to promote the global day of action, Moving Planet. Local bike riders will meet at the Midway at 1 p.m. for a rally, bike the proposed downtown streetcar route and then come back to the Midway for an afternoon of fun. More info here.

Then the real fun starts at 7 p.m., with the first shows at SCPA and the Dewey's Pizza Main Stage at Grammer's. Find tonight's lineups here.

One schedule change of note: Brian Olive is stepping into the 10 p.m. slot at thevitaminwater room to replace Conspiracy of Owls.

And when it's all over let's meet up at the official afterparties: north at The Lackman on Vine Street and south at The Righteous Room on Walnut Street. They'll have specials on Stella Artois.

Have fun!
